My name is Lisa and I’m currently doing an internship at SUiTO FUKUOKA. I grew up in a small town in Austria and moved to Munich after graduating school. While studying mechatronics (a mixture of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and informatics), I joined a Japanese language class at university. My interest in the Japanese culture grew steadily and I soon decided to visit this interesting and fascinating country. My main reasons for choosing an internship are getting in touch with people, experiencing the culture and everyday life and practicing Japanese. During the time I spend in Fukuoka I want to try various kinds of Japanese food, discover the different parts of the city (downtown, suburbs, the seaside and parks) and the surrounding area (Nanzoin, Nagasaki, Itoshima). Fukuoka is a big city offering lots of opportunities (there’s always something to see and to do) and provides a mild autumn climate. After finishing the internship I am going to visit Hiroshima, Okunoshima (rabbit island), Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe and finally Tokyo.
